Boston's miserable winter is now also the snowiest since 1872 after a relatively tame snowstorm.

The official measurement reached 108.6 inches at Logan International Airport, topping the previous record of 107.9 inches set in 1995-1996.

Boston also set a record of nearly 65 inches of snow in one month, and it hasn't been easy to clean it all up.

Mayor Marty Walsh said the city cleared 1 billion cubic feet of snow, which is about 30,000 truckloads. He expects the cost to head toward $50 million.
