Every week Allentown, Pennsylvania, serves warm meals to a group of people that most often get ignored: the homeless.

Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowsk and Pastor Tony Adamo serve the city's homeless by handing out hamburgers and hotdogs on Friday nights.

Along with volunteers they set up a grill, fire it up, and reveal God's heart to people who are struggling to get back on their feet.

"You can have as many hamburgers and hot dogs as you want. It's a great thing. It's a beautiful thing, you know," Kenny, a tent-resident, told WFMZ-TV.

Adamo who pastors Kingdom Life Family Center said, "We just started coming downtown, just because there's a need down here."

Long lines form quickly and people are sent home with clothes and food for later.

"I'm thankful for what they're doing," Gary said, adding that he's been sleeping at a laundromat. "If it wasn't for them right here, I'd probably be panhandling; quarter here, quarter there, might get a sandwich and that's it."

Adamo welcomes the city’s residents and allows them to take all that they need with them.

"Sometimes people will take, like, five. They're good... but sometimes people haven't really eaten much all day," Adamo said.

"It's more than just a hot dog. It's love, it's a blessing, it's His Spirit shining on a lot of people," Gary said.

It's just really awesome being kind to people who need some kindness. It just really does me good," the pastor said.
