France is on heightened alert after a weekend violent attacks. Thirteen people were injured Sunday when a man drove his car into crowds in the city of Dijon Sunday.

Police arrested the man and described him as having psychological problems.

Although witnesses say they heard the driver say "Allah is great," French officials say terrorism was not his motive.

Still, the attack came during renewed calls by Islamic extremists to attack France because of its involvement with the airstrikes in Iraq.

It also came one day after a man assaulted and seriously injured two police officers with a knife in central France on Saturday. Anti-terrorism police are trying to determine a motive in that attack.

"The president calls for solidarity with the victims, the families, both for the pedestrians in Dijon and the officers in Joue-les-Tours," said Stephane Le Foll, the government spokesman. "He also emphasized that we should not give in to panic."
