Myles Munroe, Wife Get State-Recognized Funeral

Thousands of mourners will gather in the Bahamas on Wednesday to honor Dr. Myles Munroe and his wife Ruth.

Munroe, his wife and co-pastor Ruth Munroe, and seven others were killed when the private plane they were traveling in crashed near Grand Bahama International Airport on Nov. 9.

A memorial service is scheduled Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. EST. The five-hour event will take place at the Thomas A. Robinson Stadium in the Oaks Field Complex in Nassau, Bahamas. Officials say doors open at 5 p.m. The service is open to the general public.

The couple's bodies will lie in repose at Bahamas Ministries Diplomat Center from noon until 5 p.m. A private ceremony will be held from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. with members of the family and senior government officials.

On Dec. 4, the Munroes will have a state-recognized funeral at 10 a.m. at the Bahamas Faith Ministries International Diplomat center.

According to The Bahamas Weekly, 10-time Grammy award winner CeCe Winans will perform at the funeral.
