U.S. airstrikes against the Khorasan Group in Syria have not stopped its ability to plot terrorist attacks against the West.

The Obama administration claimed last month's strikes interrupted a plot to bomb U.S. and European airliners.

Now, U.S. intelligence officials say only one or two key members of the cell were killed in the strike, but many escaped ahead of time and the plot is still ongoing.

"The strikes were certainly effective in setting back the Khorasan Group, but no one thinks they were a permanent solution or a death blow to the threats that come from this cell," said Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., who serves on the House Intelligence Committee.
