Life-Changing Surgeries

Meet Chengyeak

Age: 9 months
Gender: Female
Location: Phnom Penh, Cambodia
Sponsored Treatment: Cleft Palate Surgery

When Chengyeak was born, her family was worried about her well-being. Chengyeak was born with a cleft palate, which made eating and drinking very difficult. Chengyeak's mother, Ms. Oun, was distressed about her daughter's condition and anxious about what her future would hold. How would Chengyeak communicate? What would she do for a career when she grew up? What would people say? Ms. Oun longed to take Chengyeak to a doctor, but financially she could not provide the help she needed. The income from her family's small grocery business would not cover the cost of surgery. She needed help, but didn't know where to turn.

One day, while talking to the local pastor, Ms. Oun learned that CBN was sponsoring a surgical outreach near her village. With nervous anticipation, she took Chengyeak to the screening, hoping to receive help for her daughter. Thankfully, because of the support from CBN partners, Chengyeak was approved and scheduled for surgery. Chengyeak's family was overjoyed! They exclaimed, "We are so excited! This is wonderful news. We have never heard of a charity organization like this before."

After a successful surgery, Chengyeak is now able to eat and drink properly. Her family is very excited and relieved! They expressed their gratitude by saying: "Thank you to all the donors who provided this help. Now our beautiful little girl has a normal palate!"

And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. Hebrews 13:16 (NIV)
