CBN.com —Getting water every day was a huge burden for Lalitha and her husband in northwest India.
"The river was two miles away," explained Lalitha. "We had to walk down a steep hill, which was always slippery. Then we had to walk back with the heavy jugs of water."
Their youngest daughter used to help them get water, but during one trip she never returned home.
Lalitha explained, "One day, when our eight-year-old daughter went to get water, she was bitten by a snake and died almost immediately."
Their daughter’s death gripped them with fear for seven years.
"We were scared all the time, and depressed, until a pastor visited our home," said Lalitha. "He listened to our problems and showed us compassion. Then, for the first time in our lives, we heard about Jesus Christ. The pastor encouraged us to pray to his God for our needs."
Lalitha, her husband and many of their relatives prayed to Jesus for clean drinking water. Not long after those prayers, CBN India found out about their village and sent their Living Water’s team to drill a well.
Lalitha joyfully said, "Jesus Christ heard our prayers! Now our entire village is enjoying lots of clean water right next to their homes. We have water for everything, and we finally have peace in our lives. We thank everyone who has helped us."
