CBN.com —Madhubala made long treks over jagged rocks and steep hills to get water in northwest India. After years of walking the rough terrain, Madhubala developed knee problems that left her bedridden. Her husband Balavanth tried his best to take care of their family.
Balavanth explained, "Our children had to go to school late so they could get water. When they were sick or had exams, I had to go instead. This was becoming a big problem."
Getting water often made him late for his job. Less time at work meant less food on the table. Then, a pastor came to their home. Even though they were Hindu and had never heard of Jesus, they received hope.
Balavanth said, "He shared the gospel with us and said, 'Pray to Jesus and your problems will be solved.' Then he prayed and left. So we decided to see if praying to this Lord Jesus Christ would make a difference. To our surprise, very soon after that prayer, my wife started to feel better and was able to walk."
Madhubala’s healing increased their faith to pray for a new water source close by. Their prayer was answered when CBN’s Living Water's team came and drilled a well in their village. It provided clean water for them and 150 other families.
"We were so grateful for my wife's healing and the well that we started going to church," said Balavanth. "Then we accepted Jesus as our personal Savior."
His children no longer have to miss school to get water, and he can once again provide for his family.
Balavanth said, "I can easily get water from the well and go to work on time. Our faith in Jesus Christ made all of this possible. We thank Him for using CBN to help our family and our neighbors."
