CBN.com —When CBN first saw where Mrs. Sia had been living, in a broken down house made of straw, we were shocked. The house had collapsed after a typhoon blew through the mountain community in Thailand. Mrs. Sia’s first thoughts were not for herself.
“I was very concerned especially for my children,” she told us.
Mrs. Sia is a widow. She was forced to raise her children alone after her husband died. Sia’s daughter carries the weight of the family’s situation on her young shoulders too.
“I feel so sorry for my mother and my little brother,” daughter Saie told us through her tears.
After the typhoon, the government gave Mrs. Sia some supplies to help her to rebuild her damaged house. But Sia didn’t have money to pay anyone to help with construction. So the young widow finally abandoned their old damaged house, and asked if a family member could take them in temporarily.
I knew that we couldn’t stay there for a long time,” said Sia. “I didn’t want to be a burden. I could only pray for help.”
CBN hired a crew to rebuild Sia’s house and even bought some the materials that were needed to finish the job. Mrs. Sia’s neighbors were happy happy at the widow’s good fortune.
“Only a kind and powerful God can make something like this happen! Sia declared. “Now people call me ‘the mother whom God has blessed.’”
“This is a very good house, a stronger house,” added Sia’s daughter. “My mother is very happy.”
“I will remember this for the rest of my life,” said Sia. ”Thank you and may God bless you even more than you blessed me!”
