CBN.com —Every couple of days, Misael and his wife and children have to walk four hours, round-trip, in the blazing Honduran sun, to collect a few containers of water.
"I remember a few times when we asked a farmer if we could get water from his dirty pond, which was closer to our home," says Misael. "But he always said, 'No.' It was reserved for his animals."
During the rainy season, the creeks and streams near their home swell and can be dangerous for collecting water. Mishael's wife and children have to take risks just to get a few gallons of the precious liquid.
"One day I fell down into the current and had to grab some branches to save myself," Silvia tells us.
Another day Misael remembers rescuing a young boy who nearly drowned in the stream.
"A couple of minutes later and he would have died," says Misael.
Misael and his neighbors waited many years for someone to help them. The government promised to dig a well for them, but it never happened.
Then CBN's Operation Blessing discovered the remote community hidden away in the mountains and immediately dug a well for them. We then installed pipes to bring the clean clear well water into every home.
"Since Operation Blessing came to help us, everything has changed for us in our village," reports Misael. "The women and children feel safe; and everyone is so grateful for the water!"
