Helps Thirteen-Year-Old Iraqi Girl

Peace is slowly entering Iraq. Bombed out villages are recovering
with the aid of American and allied forces. Basic necessities like
food, water, and electricity are being restored. But many are still
dying because they are waiting…waiting for doctors, waiting for
surgeries, waiting for simple medications.
Thirteen-year-old Aghadeer Jamil was hospitalized before the war
even began. She is still weak because she simply isn't getting enough
vitamins and antibiotics.
"She was transferred from Basra," says Dr. Zuhair, talking about
Aghadeer's condition. "She had a car accident before the war, early
in March, actually, and she was operated on in the Basra hospital
for her multiple injuries. Because of these injuries, she is loosing
much weight. Now she is very thin. As a general condition, she is
not doing well."
Finding medicine to keep Aghadeer alive is a priority for Dr. Zuhair.
He urgently needs help, and we are doing all we can for Aghadeer and
many others.
Operation Blessing brought in 100 medical-grade oxygen tanks to hospitals
in southern Iraq. Doctors are using the oxygen for babies in incubators
and for patients undergoing surgery.
And Operation Blessing is working to do even more. Two teams of volunteer
doctors are on their way. These doctors will not only provide emergency
surgeries, but they will also train local doctors in the newest procedures.
Thanks to gifts from CBN partners, Aghadeer is now getting the proper
nutrition and medication she desperately needs.
But she, along with many others in Iraq, still needs our help to
recover and still needs our prayers.
