CBN.com —Luis Felipe is a die-hard Superbook fan. He first started watching the CBN animated series when it aired in Costa Rica in 2013. He was so taken by the Bible stories, that he begged his mom to buy some of the DVDs for him.
"My favorite episode is In the Beginning. I've seen it 24 times!" he told CBN excitedly. "My favorite scene is when the angels fought in the name of the Lord God."
But Luis and his mom were not prepared for the impact the programs would have on his life.
During the story of Abraham and Isaac, Luis became so troubled that he had to leave the room.
"When I watched that episode, I was sad. Abraham was going to sacrifice what he loved most in the world!" said Luis.
"He went out into the hallway and kept asking, 'why, why?'" added his mom Rebeca.
During another episode Luis Felipe made a life-changing decision.
"While watching Superbook, I asked Jesus to come into my heart and stay with me forever."
According to his mom, God has used Superbook to change her son's behavior too!
"The change in Luis has been incredible," she said. "I've seen him seeking God, being obedient, reading the Bible, and praying at night. He sometimes prays for me, my daughter, for our family."
"Something in my heart was missing and when I watched Superbook," said Luis, "that space was filled because Superbook has helped me face my problems."
Even the neighbors have noticed the difference in the boy.
"The way he talks, it's something sweet to see in a boy," said Maritza. "And it is clear that he has become interested in the things of God."
"I would tell parents that haven't seen Superbook, to sit down with your children and watch it!" said mom Rebeca. "It is like sowing seeds into fertile ground. And it will help us, as well as our kids!"
