CBN.com - As retirement community managers, Jim and Donna Nellius don’t stay in one place for long. They travel the country, filling in for other managers on vacation. Even with all the moving around, some things stay consistent, like tithing to their church and giving to CBN.
“Wherever we go when we work, we go to different churches, and we always want to give to that church, because I believe there’s a principal there,” Jim says. “But then you have tithes and offerings. We’re to give to evangelism, reaching others that need Christ. We’re to give to the poor, and we’re to give to the orphans. CBN has ministries to every one of those areas. So when we give to them, they diversify that money and it goes right where I believe it should be given.”
“They help so many people all over the world. It’s not just one small group of people, it’s worldwide,” Donna adds. “There’s just an unending array of people that are helped through that giving. And I just feel blessed to be part of it.”
As grandparents, they especially love supporting Superbook. It’s one way they can share their faith with their grandson Jacob, no matter where they are.
“The last time we were together he talked about Superbook and the cartoons and the different things,” Jim points out. “We just see God using Superbook to bring that whole family, you know, my daughter and her husband and of course little Jacob, closer to where they need to be.”
They also see the bigger picture.
“I love Superbook because I know it’s going to affect little children, and those little children are going to affect their parents,” Donna says. “I know it’s going to make a difference in so many children’s lives.”
Jim and Donna see their giving as part of God’s plan for reaching the world and pouring His blessings on their lives.
According to Donna, “If we give to God, He’s going to give back to us because He loves us. He’s our father.”
“I feel like right now, it’s like having no weight whatsoever on my shoulders. I feel so free, it’s not even funny,” Jim explains, “because of the faithfulness of God, and applying His principles and how that really makes all the difference.”
Being obedient to God's truth made an incredible difference for Jim and Donna.
