Prepare your Heart and Home for Thanksgiving

Give thanks for your many blessings.
The wonderful time of Thanksgiving is here! As we look forward to festive times with family and friends, how do we prepare our hearts and homes for a truly meaningful Thanksgiving? There are several things we can do and I’d like to share some with you:
First, we begin with an attitude of thankfulness. Giving thanks to God in all circumstances puts us in right relationship with the Lord, opening a channel for blessings to flow into our lives. It doesn’t deny reality or our problems—instead, thanksgiving says “I trust You, God,” and He rewards us with His peace and joy.
Second, we give of ourselves to others. The Bible tells us that when we give to the poor, we are lending to the Lord and He will repay us. Giving to God opens the windows of heaven and He promises to pour out His blessing on us.
I would like you to join me in a Robertson family tradition.
Each Thanksgiving we figure out the amount of money we will spend on our holiday dinner, and give an equal amount to the work of the Lord.
Please consider sending a special Thanksgiving gift, which will bring the Gospel and urgently needed help to families, widows, orphans, and the world’s forgotten, through the ministries of CBN.
Many of our fellow Americans are facing tremendous difficulties right now. The recent floods in South Carolina have left communities devastated and hearts broken.
CBN partners have been there, delivering water, hot meals, and disaster relief supplies. They are helping to gut and rebuild homes, remove debris, and help our neighbors recover from the devastation.
Other families across our great nation are facing terrible choices. Some will choose between having heat, and feeding their children. Others will go without medicine in order to put food on the table. Because of your generosity, CBN’s Operation Blessing Hunger Strike Force will supply hundreds of thousands with nutritious food, and fill their hearts with hope.
In this time of chaotic world events, calls for help are growing rapidly. I need you to help persecuted Christians fleeing ISIS, as well as to bring medical help, clean water, and job training to the poorest of the world’s people.
Most importantly, please help bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a dying world. Millions have never heard of God’s love for them. They don’t know that their sins can be forgiven and they can be made right in the sight of God through faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus.
This is the life-changing, eternity-altering work of which CBN partners are a part. God has called you and me to rescue souls from darkness and hell, and bring millions into the kingdom of heaven. That is why your help is greatly needed.
This Thanksgiving, please join me in giving back to the Lord in grateful thanks for all He has done for us. Let your sacrifice of a thankful and giving heart bless His wonderful name.
My prayer for you is that God would prepare your heart for a very meaningful holiday filled with joy and gladness. May the Lord bless you and those you love with His healing touch and perfect peace, now, and in the days ahead. God bless you!
