CBN.comThe Williamsburg Community Chapel in Williamsburg, Virginia, has decided to reach outside the U.S. to help put a smile on some children’s faces.

It all started when several people from the church, along with our own Terry Meeuwsen, traveled to the Ukraine to visit with children from the Berdansk orphanage.

The church wanted to show the orphans genuine love and care. That’s when the church decided to “financially adopt” the entire orphanage!

“I feel God had a hand in choosing orphanage that we would adopt,” says Suzie. “Families have already adopted some girls.”

Recently the church helped to sponsor the Berdansk children’s choir to fly to the U.S. and do a singing tour. The children captivated the hearts of everyone they met.

Natalyia Khomak, CBN Orphan Project Coordinator, says, “They’ve been working really hard. Every day they practice. They feel that is their main purpose to sing and bless American audiences here.”

For most of the children, this was there first time outside the Ukraine and for some it was their first time outside of the orphanage.

The love shown by Williamsburg Community Chapel is making an impact on children like Yuroslov. Since coming to the U.S., this once shy little boy has started to bloom!

“Having been in the orphanage since birth, he’s never known attention and love. Here everyone is giving him hugs and love and he’s blossomed. He seems to come out of his shell. He’s like a different child; no one recognizes him,” says Natalyia.

Even though the children have returned to the Ukraine, the church has decided to continue supporting the orphanage financially. That is making a world of difference for these boys and girls.

For all of this The 700 Club salutes you, Williamsburg Community Chapel in Williamsburg, Virginia.
