CBN.com HEALTH UPDATE

In 1998, Alicia had a diagnosis of cancer. Early one morning, Alicia fell on her face before the Lord seeking His direction. The presence of the Lord came into the room and she heard the Lord say to her heart, “Healing comes from knowing Who I am.”

As Alicia continued to seek the Lord, every scripture verse she had ever shared in ministry, every verse she had memorized, came back to her.

“He sent his Word to me,” she said, and her faith rose up with the Word going from her head to her heart.

Alicia’s faith and confidence grew in the Lord. A few months later she discovered He had healed her body!  And soon after, they learned Alicia was pregnant with their son Michael.

Ten years later Alicia continues to be healthy. But she has lost both her brother and sister to illness in the last year, leaving her as an only child to elderly parents who live four states away. She says life is not what she expected, and her heart hurts for her family; but she is thankful that she knows how to worship the Lord and see Him provide, protect and give His peace. She grieves, but not as those with no hope.

WOMEN IN WORSHIP

For the last five years Alicia has held Women in Worship conferences around the country. She calls them Bible teaching worship events. Worship means to bow down and comes from the old English word, “worthship” which meant to ascribe worthiness to or to give honor where honor is due. We win when we worship and accept God’s power and presence in the “dailyness” and circumstances of our lives. She says worship is a response to Truth, not a reaction to circumstances. Response means an informed reply, while reaction has the connotation of an outburst.

Alicia says worship must be on God’s terms and not ours.  She uses SOIL to describe worship. Sacrificial – without sacrifice there is no worship.  Obedience – incomplete obedience is disobedience. Immediate –delayed obedience is disobedience. Loving – without love we are nothing.

Concerning worship, Alicia says, “The heart of the matter is the matter of the heart.”   Responding to Truth begins with a right knowledge of God, through His word and daily experience in and of His presence. As Christians, we are not called to perfection, but to obedience and repentance. God is our Source, not a Resource.

Alicia says II Peter 2:5-7 sums this up, “Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge; and in your knowledge, self-control. And in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness; and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love!”

“DAYS OF ELIJAH”

Alicia says we know the signs of the times, and the coming of the Lord is imminent. And if we are not in THE last days, these are her last days.  But there is no God like Jehovah!
