CBN.com — When Noligwa's husband abandoned the family, she was left to take care of their two children alone.
"My children always asked me where their father was and I had no answer," says Noligwa.
"It hurt so much. At school, I would think of my mother. I felt bad because she was on her own," says Noligwa's daughter.
Noligwa didn't have a job, so she started taking care of other children in the community. But as more kids came to her makeshift preschool, her small shack got more and more run down.
"It was very difficult, especially when it was raining," says Noligwa. "The roof leaked over where the children slept. So I had to move them around to different places."
Because of the bad conditions, attendance dropped.
"My pillow would be wet with tears," says Noligwa. "I cried all night and asked God what I did to deserve this."
When we heard about Noligwa through a local church, CBN's Orphan's Promise helped her by building her a new preschool, with enough room to accommodate more children.
"Even before I moved into the new place, parents were asking if they could bring their kids," says Noligwa. "The kids ran through the rooms and played with all the new toys."
Now Noligwa earns more than enough to take care of her family. She has a safe, clean place for the children of her community, and she even earns enough to help other struggling families by letting their children come for free.
