Chief Financial Officer

Virginia Beach, VA

The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) is seeking an executive-level Chief Financial Officer to provide overall direction and leadership for the Finance & Accounting and Tax & Internal Audit divisions. This position will oversee all financial policies, procedures, planning, reporting, compliance and internal controls for consolidated ministry-wide operations, including all domestic and international entities.

CBN is a global ministry committed to preparing the nations of the world for the coming of Jesus Christ through mass media.  Using television and the Internet, CBN is proclaiming the Good News in over 100 countries and territories, with programs and content translated into 69 languages. CBN is home to over 1000 employees who contribute their skills and talents in a wide-variety of industry-specific roles.

The CFO will report directly to the President/COO and will also establish effective partnerships with the CEO, Board of Directors and senior leadership to develop and implement successful financial strategies impacting an organization with an operating budget in excess of $180 million. 

This position will provide senior-management oversight of the Finance & Accounting division which includes:  Financial Reporting, Budgeting, Treasury, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Purchasing, Accounts Receivable, Cost Accounting, Risk Management and non-cash gifts; as well as, oversight of the Tax & Internal Audit division.

Specific Finance & Accounting Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead talented staff in the development and achievement of division goals.
  • Lead planning and review of annual Capital Purchases Budget and Operating Cash Flow Budget; review Budgets with COO, CEO, and Board Chairman.
  • Oversee banking relationships, negotiate agreements, and monitor compliance with all related covenants.
  • Present financial information and statements at all meetings of the Board of Directors and its Audit Committee.
  • Arrange annual audit, as approved by Audit Committee, of consolidated CBN financial statements and those of select subsidiaries and affiliates.
  • Review preparation of monthly financial statements and distribute with commentary to the Board of Directors.
  • Oversee disclosure of financial information and statements to the public, including donors and foundations for grants.
  • Serve other divisions as needed in negotiating and administering financial arrangements particular to their areas of responsibility.

Specific Tax & Internal Audit Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead talented staff in the development and achievement of division goals.
  • Lead preparation and review of Governance, Management & Disclosure Policies to ensure compliance with IRS requirements for 501(c)(3) organization.
  • Visit domestic and international ministry locations to keep apprised of their operations, financial concerns and risk exposures.
  • Keep informed of government actions that influence ministry operations and participate with support organizations, such as ECFA, to protect CBN’s interests.

The Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in financial planning and business management with track record of achieving strategic financial objectives.
  • Strong experience in a senior financial-management role, partnering with executive staff, resulting in the development and implementation of creative financial management strategies.
  • Significant knowledge of financial resources with expert negotiating skills and ability to secure maximum benefit from terms and conditions.
  • Ability to develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial analyses to provide insight into the organization’s operations and business plans.
  • Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles with experience in, or knowledge of, nonprofit accounting.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or related field; CPA required.

The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) is seeking an experienced Telephony Systems Engineer to support Call Center technical operations in Nashville, TN.  This individual will demonstrate expertise with Telephony Contact Center product lines and provide support, maintenance, and coordination with Call Centers in both VA and TN locations.  This position will perform day-to-day technical tasks, first-level analysis, and remote diagnostics; utilize approved management tools to detect abnormal behavior and/or failures; and report on all assigned systems.  This is primarily a technical support rather than administrative role.

The ideal candidate will possess a proven, successful record of accomplishment in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of Interactive Intelligence version 3.0, plus experience with Interaction Administrator, Interaction Dialer, Interaction Designer, Interaction Client, and Interaction Scripter given special consideration.
  • VoIP/SIP/HMP experience given additional consideration.

Truck Driver

Operation Blessing - Midwest and Texas

Operation Blessing International (OBI) is seeking a truck driver to work with Hunger Strike Force to transport product to and from assigned pick-up and delivery locations.  This position will ensure safe operation of assigned OB tractor and trailer in compliance with Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations (FMCSR).   

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Must have Commercial Drivers License (CDL), Class “A”
  • DOT Certification required
  • 300,000+ miles previous driving experience
  • No DMV chargeable offenses for immediate 3-year period prior to employment
  • Must pass DOT drug and alcohol test prior to employment
  • Working knowledge of DOT 10, 15, and 70 hour drive/work rule
  • Working knowledge of trailer product placement in accordance with Federal Bridge laws
  • Knowledge of DOT Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations
  • Ability to plan and execute travel-time in a safe, legal and DOT compliant manner

Systems Engineer II

Enterprise Services – Nashville, TN

The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) is seeking an experienced Telephony Systems Engineer to support Call Center technical operations in Nashville, TN.  This individual will demonstrate expertise with Telephony Contact Center product lines and provide support, maintenance, and coordination with Call Centers in both VA and TN locations.  This position will perform day-to-day technical tasks, first-level analysis, and remote diagnostics; utilize approved management tools to detect abnormal behavior and/or failures; and report on all assigned systems.  This is primarily a technical support rather than administrative role.

The ideal candidate will possess a proven, successful record of accomplishment in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of Interactive Intelligence version 3.0, plus experience with Interaction Administrator, Interaction Dialer, Interaction Designer, Interaction Client, and Interaction Scripter given special consideration.
  • VoIP/SIP/HMP experience given additional consideration.
  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Technology, a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional technical experience.
  • Experience with technical operations in a fast-paced, high-productivity environment (preferably contact center).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems
  • Knowledge of database management systems including SQL Server 2005/2008.
  • Proficient with TCP/IP
  • Troubleshooting abilities as it relates to the OSI model
  • Telephony experience and familiarity with blended inbound-outbound phone center environments given additional consideration.
  • Ability to be on call via mobile telephone or pager during unscheduled days or shift times for emergency requirements.
  • Ability to travel between Virginia Beach and Nashville as needed for special projects, and to travel for occasional off-site training.
  • Availability to work after hours as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment to determine appropriate solutions to technical issues.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current and developing technologies and ability to analyze technology for use in current environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. Must be able to perform oral and written instructions, and communicate at all levels within an organization with a pleasant demeanor.
