More Ministries Gather to Pray for Hollywood

CBN.com --HOLLYWOOD, CA (ANS) -- Year after year, more ministries realize the strategic importance of the entertainment industry, and they make the wise spiritual decision to pray for Hollywood and the mass media of entertainment. The Hollywood Prayer Network and several other important ministries exist just to pray for the entertainment industry. Yearly convocations and gala events are being held to prayerfully support those who work in the mass media of entertainment. As a result, Hollywood is changing, as every major movie studio is in the midst of producing movies and entertainment with strong Christian content.

However, there is still a far distance to go to redeem the mass media of entertainment. This summer has seen the release of some truly horrible movies in terms of both quality and content, including The Devil’s Rejects, Wedding Crashers, and Land of the Dead.

Therefore, it was a great joy recently to join with two dozen ministries from across the country, and some as far away as Israel and Jordan, who came to the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif., for three days to pray for the Hollywood entertainment industry.

This event was not the usual wonderful lecture-and-hear-from-leaders-type banquet. It was a significant prayer meeting performed with a great positive love for the people in the Hollywood entertainment industry, Christian ministries in Hollywood, and the people who are affected throughout the world by Hollywood movies, videos, and television programs.

The group prayed in great detail for top leaders and executives in the entertainment industry. The prayer gathering was an extremely unique event marked by humility, grace, love, forgiveness, and strong prophetic insights.

In the process, many of the key Hollywood people who attended were deeply moved. They said that they had never experienced such a humble, selfless meeting. In fact, some people who had abandoned the entertainment industry decided to move back to Hollywood.

One ministry reported that revival was breaking out during the meeting. After years of barely paying their bills, three gigantic gifts came three days in a row. Furthermore, projects that had languished were now being produced by major companies.

One participant wrote, “We left knowing we had a new place of faith to stand in prayer for the entertainment industry!”

Another participant reported:

“The gathering of intercessors recently at the Beverly Hills Hilton hotel in California was an exciting and very blessed time, convened by Judy and Jerry Ball from Troutman, N.C., who direct the Breaker of Dawn ministry. Coming from many different states and countries, the hearts of these intercessors were quickly united as they worshipped and prayed together.

“We accept this position of faith for the city and many key people in the entertainment industry. The challenge is for continuing prayers that compel the prodigals to return, finding the place of deep repentance and restoration God desires - a transforming grace that revolutionizes Hollywood and sweeps across our nation. This is not too hard for God. He is a Miracle-maker!

“The psalmist fully understood the power of interaction and exchange with God. He wrote, ‘I cry out to God Most High, to God who performs all things for me’ (Psalm 57:2). Surely all things can be brought to fulfillment and completion as we embrace the purposes of God in our cries before His throne. Such is our confidence as we proclaim the uncapping of wells and the release of God's mighty river of life to Hollywood, California.
