CBN.com "I was driving down the road going to work to Albany, and a car went through a stop sign. It hit me in the driver’s door, and I hit an embankment, hit a telephone pole, and rolled three times. Then I heard the sirens of the ambulances coming," remembers Gordon.
Gordon Vitus of Elmira, Oregon had disc damage from the accident. Doctors operated later that year.
Dr. Doug Carlstrom remembers working on him.
"Gordy was involved in a very severe auto accident that created severe damage to his L-4, L-5, and S-1 discs. That created injury to the nerve roots going down his leg. After surgery, he ended up having pain and numbness in his leg."
For nine years, Gordon underwent chiropractic treatments for pain relief. Many people joined him in prayer for his healing, but the chronic pain made it hard for him to make a living.
"I worked for an engineering firm. I was a shop supervisor, and the pain got so great that it was threatening my job because I couldn’t do my job properly or even concentrate," he says.
Gordon ended up losing an entire year of work. When his company was sold, he found a new job driving a school bus, but pain plagued him for seven more years. One afternoon he sat down to watch The 700 Club.
“There is someone, you’ve got a recurring problem in your right leg. It’s like your leg is dead, and there is numbness on the sole of your foot, tingling. And God is healing that right now."
"I said, that’s me, I claim it! That’s me, I’m getting healed, thank you Jesus! I told my family. Everybody was excited for me, and I still am pain free."
Since that day, Gordon looks forward to work, especially driving the children to school. He even started his own limosine service on the side, but no matter whom he chauffeurs, his message is clear.
"God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and if you ask Him to heal you, He will. So just trust in Him. The Bible says you don’t have faith, if you don’t have hope. So, if you have hope in Jesus, and you believe what He says in His word, His word will become alive in your life."
