Sandra Cruz: No Small Healing

By Richard Santoro

CBN.comSandra Cruz had allergies and didn’t even know it.

“All the pressure was right around my eyes and my nose,” she explains. "Sometimes my head felt like a bowling ball.”

Twice a year, she lost her voice and never thought that it might be connected to a persistent illness.

“I figured I’m just having a little laryngitis,” she says. “We live next to farmland, and the dust here is pretty intense -- especially when he’s plowing. Even closing the windows did not help.”

Eventually Sandra went to the doctor who diagnosed her allergies.

“I was on two different medications,” Sandra explains. “One was to relieve nasal congestion. The other one was just for the congestion in my throat.”

One evening, Sandra came home. She was tired, but she stayed up long enough to catch The 700 Club.

“I sat back on the couch, and a Word of Knowledge was given. ‘Someone is being healed of allergies right now.’
“I said, ‘This is February. I don’t know if this is real, but I’m going to claim it. Come springtime, if I lose my voice, I’ll know I [was] not healed.”

However, springtime came and much to her surprise…

“I went off my medication. I did not lose my voice and have not lost it since.”

She continues, “People were just amazed. They said, ‘Wow, you didn’t lose your voice this year.’ I said, ‘Yeah, I really feel that the Lord has touched me.’

Sandra soon went back to her doctor, and he couldn’t believe it either.

“He said, ‘I don’t understand this, but you don’t have any symptoms at all. As far as I’m concerned, you can be off your medication.’”

Sandra learned a valuable lesson. She says, “It just showed me that God is in the details. He even cares about things like allergies that often times we just take some medication. God is an awesome God. He really does love us, and He cares.”
